Technical specifications

  • In 1978, Tissot created a quartz model distinguished by a slim case, narrow hour-markers and a steel bracelet. Its wide horizontal lugs, typical of the time, were perfectly integrated into the flat tonneau-shaped case. A few years later, Tissot registered the name PRX. "PR" stands for "precise" and "robust". Its flexibility and suppleness make it a real success in terms of ergonomic design, and provide exceptional comfort. The satin-finish on the outside is just as meticulous as the polish on the inside. The hands of the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 steel & 18-carat gold are coated with SuperLumiNova® . This brings the dial closer to the watch crystal. The optical effect achieved by Tissot's designers makes the watch case appear even flatter and thinner than it actually is. The Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 steel & 18-carat gold features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. Its Swiss Made automatic movement with a power reserve of up to 80 hours is equipped with a Nivachron balance spring, known for its excellent resistance to magnetic fields.

  • Powermatic 80

An automatic watch is powered by the energy of the person who wears it. Wrist movements enable the mechanism to run. The Powermatic 80 movement boasts 80 hours of power reserve, which is enough to continue telling time accurately even if the watch is not worn for three days. It is an innovative movement that outperforms the competition, whose movements generally provide 1.5 days of power reserve.

  • Superluminova®

Ensuring visibility under all conditions is an important goal for Tissot. This is why some timepieces feature a material called SuperLuminova®. This material is placed on visible parts such as dials and hands, where it functions as a miniature accumulator of reflected light when the watch finds itself in the dark. *Non-contractual image

  • Accessorization

Most Tissot watches now feature an interchangeable strap system. The unique unlock system enables to easily remove the strap without the need of a tool. Interchangeable straps are the best way to personalise your watch as they offer a great choice of customisation for your timepiece, to suit any occasion in two simple clicks.

  • Gold

Gold is one of the most precious and prized metals. It is renowned for its radiance and numerous technical properties: non-oxidising, insoluble, unalterable. Tissot uses 18-carat gold, a prestigious alloy comprising 75% pure gold combined with a mix of silver and copper, useful in gold production. Thanks to Tissot's expertise and craftsmanship, gold timepieces have unmatched longevity, generation after generation. *Non-contractual image
